Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) seeks an industry-leading Associate Principal or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to expand our geotechnical practice nationwide.
The role includes project management, technical leadership, mentorship, and client development across WJE offices in the continental United States. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, a Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field, and 20+ years of experience across soil conditions, foundations,
Qualifications
- Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
- Master's degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience (25+ preferred), with expertise in foundations, underpinning, ground improvement, slope stability, and settlement.
Responsibilities
- Project management including client development, scoping, teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Technical leadership applying codes, guidelines, and industry practices; SME for geotechnical projects; mentor reviews and field work.
- Mentorship across local and company-wide teams on technical topics and staff development.
- Contribute to practice growth by attracting clients and engaging in industry organizations and committees.
