Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) seeks an industry‑leading Associate Principal or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to grow our geotechnical practice across the United States.

You will lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and apply sound, code‑aware judgment to challenging forensic and remediation investigations. You will manage client relationships, oversee project scopes and budgets, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver technically rigorous assessments

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
• Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience (25+ preferred) including foundations, field investigations, slope stability, and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Project management including client development, scoping, team assembly, schedules and budgets.
• Technical leadership applying sound engineering judgment and codes; SME across geotechnical projects; provide reviews and training.
