Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) seeks an industry-leading Associate Principal or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to expand and develop our geotechnical practice companywide.

The role emphasizes project management, technical leadership, mentorship, and client development across the United States. A licensed Geotechnical Engineer with 20+ years of experience is required, with a Master's or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
• Master's degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience (25+ preferred).
• Dedicated self-starter with a "principles first" problem-solving approach.
• Excellent technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project management including client development, project scoping, assembling and managing project teams, maintaining schedules and budgets, and delivering clientables.
• Technical leadership applying sound engineering judgment, understanding codes and guidelines, and mentoring cross-disciplinary teams.
• Mentorship locally and company-wide, on-and-off projects, for staff career development and knowledge sharing.
• Contributing to geotechnical practice and company objectives, engaging clients and industry organizations.
