Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to define the technical vision and drive architecture across the engineering org. You will mentor staff, shape standards, and partner with product and operations to deliver scalable, compliant pharmacy and healthcare platforms on AWS and PostgreSQL stacks.

You have 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, deep HealthTech domain knowledge, and a track record leading major architectural initiatives in high-throughput SaaS environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering and systems design experience.
• Experience building and scaling distributed, high-throughput B2B SaaS or transactional systems.
• Deep HealthTech domain expertise and knowledge of healthcare data interoperability standards desirable (HL7, FHIR, NCPDP).

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve target architecture for core platforms and high-volume initiatives.
• Mentor Staff, Senior, and Mid-level engineers; promote design reviews and best practices.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, CI/CD, testing, and security-by-design.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations to align tech with business goals.
• Partner with InfoSec to ensure HIPAA/SOC2 compliance in architectures.
• Lead performance and reliability improvements across PostgreSQL and AWS stack.
• Evaluate new tools and AWS services through proofs-of-concept to improve the ecosystem.
