Job summary

OneTrust is seeking a Principal-level, US-based, customer-facing engineer who will be the technical front line for our largest enterprise customers. You will diagnose production issues, shape solutions, and translate customer pain into product priorities.

You will lead technical sessions, guide on scalability and observability, and mentor teams while creating runbooks and reference architectures. Strong cloud experience and 12+ years in engineering are required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands‑on engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a customer-facing role.
• Experience with distributed datastores or warehouses (e.g., Cosmos DB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka).
• High-throughput, low-latency APIs and services in a cloud environment.
• Troubleshooting complex production issues across multiple layers (application, data, infrastructure, network).
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Java, C#, or similar).
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Comfortable presenting to engineers and executives.
• Customer empathy and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact for a portfolio of strategic enterprise customers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems and data pipelines, often in live contexts.
• Reproduce and resolve incidents with Product Engineering, SRE/CloudOps, and Support.
• Lead deep-dive technical sessions to understand architectures and data flows.
• Translate customer pain points into clear requirements and backlog items.
• Guide customers on scalability, reliability, and observability best practices.
• Mentor Support and Customer Success on technical topics.
• Create runbooks, knowledge articles, and reference architectures.
• Participate in postmortems and drive product/process improvements.
• Provide data-driven feedback to Product Management for roadmap.
