Job summary

OneTrust, based in Atlanta, seeks a Principal Software Engineer for enterprise customers. You will be hands-on with large-scale data systems, diagnose production issues, and shape solutions that unlock value from our platform.

You will lead technical sessions with customers, translate pain points into requirements, and mentor teams on scalability, observability, and reliability. The role reports to senior engineering leadership and emphasizes customer empathy and impact.

Qualifications

12+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a customer-facing role.
Distributed datastores or warehouses (e.g., Cosmos DB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Cassandra, MongoDB).
High-throughput, low-latency APIs and services in a cloud environment.
Proven track record of troubleshooting complex production issues across multiple layers (application, data, infrastructure, network).
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Java, C#, or similar).
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple language.
Comfortable presenting to engineers and executive stakeholders.
Demonstrated customer empathy and ownership.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise customers using our big-data services.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems, data pipelines, APIs, and integrations.
Reproduce, triage, and drive resolution of incidents with Product Engineering, SRE/CloudOps, and Support.
Lead deep-dive technical sessions to understand architectures and data flows.
Translate customer pain points into clear requirements and backlog items.
Guide customers on scalability, reliability, and observability best practices.
Mentor Support and Customer Success teams on technical topics.
Create runbooks, knowledge base articles, reference architectures, sample code, and playbooks.
Participate in incident postmortems and drive product/process improvements.
Provide structured, data-driven feedback to Product Management on roadmap and gaps.
