Job summary

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Embedded / Radar) to join the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. You will lead an agile team, develop radar-ground station software, and mentor new engineers.

Onsite work at El Segundo campus, and eligibility for special access programs is required. The role demands expertise in C/C++, ReactJS, radar software, and a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience.
• Development experience coding in C/C++/ReactJS, ESRI ArcGIS, AMQP, Google protobuf, Docker, Java, PostgreSQL or related tools in radar software.
• Experience on UNIX/Red Hat Linux/Windows RTOS environments.
• Active and transferable U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead agile software development team as SME and product owner for ASARS-2A.
• Develop ground station software support for ASARS-2A and related radar functionalities.
• Mentor team members and onboard new hires; run weekly customer meetings.
• Contribute across the SW lifecycle including SW/HW integration and program reviews.
• Support technical decision making, problem resolution, and program milestones.
