Job summary

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to join Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar teams. Onsite at El Segundo campus, you will tackle complex problems, lead an agile team, mentor staff, and contribute across SW lifecycle for ASARS-2A.

The role requires a STEM degree and 8+ years in radar software, with expertise in C/C++, RTOS, UNIX/Linux, and modern tools. U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of experience.
• Experience coding in C/C++/ReactJS, ESRI ArcGIS, AMQP, Google protobuf, Docker, Java, PostgreSQL in radar software.
• Experience with UNIX/Red Hat Linux or Windows RTOS environments.
• Experience as an Agile Product Owner, Scrum Master, and leading a 7–8 person software team.

Responsibilities

• Lead agile software development as SME and product owner for ASARS-2A.
• Develop RT software for radar mode independent functions and capabilities.
• Mentor teammates and onboard new hires.
• Coordinate and lead weekly customer meetings and reviews.
• Support software/hardware integration and lifecycle activities.
