Job summary
RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Embedded / Radar) to lead software efforts for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar program at the El Segundo campus. You will guide a software team, collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines, and ensure timely delivery of software for the F18 roadmap while maintaining system-level documentation.
The role requires a strong background in C/C++/ADA, experience with RTOS, and a DoD security clearance, with onsite work in El Segundo, CA.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of software development experience.
- Experience as Software REA or Software Technical Lead with customer interface.
- Experience with DevSecOps methodologies.
- Development in C, C++, ADA across SDLC.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux/Windows and RTOS environments.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance is required and U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to the software team and liaise with engineering, leadership and customer.
- Drive progress to meet deadlines and milestones.
- Design, develop, test software for APG-79 radar in an agile/waterfall environment.
- Support system integration of software with hardware.
- Document system architecture and design specifications.
