Job summary

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal Software Engineer (Embedded / Radar) to lead software efforts for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. You will guide the F-18 development team's software, ensure milestones, and oversee design, implementation, and testing of real-time embedded systems.

The role requires strong C/C++/ADA skills, extensive experience with RTOS engines like VxWorks, and a DoD Secret clearance. Onsite work at El Segundo campus is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience as Software REA and/or Software Technical Lead interfacing with customers.
• Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and DoD software standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the software team and liaise with stakeholders.
• Drive progress to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Design, develop, and test software for APG-79 radar on embedded platforms.
• Support system integration of software on hardware and perform troubleshooting.
• Document software architecture and design specifications.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on system modification requests.
