Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal Software Engineer (Embedded / Radar) to own the Tactical Software Operational Flight Program for APG-82(V)1/APG-82(V)x and lead the Tactical Software team.

The role requires deep experience in embedded radar software, C/C++/ADA, and security clearance. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet program milestones.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in embedded APG-82(V)1 software development with C/C++/ADA.
• Experience with Linux/Windows, VxWorks, RT Secure, Integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural vision and technical design guidance for OFSoftware.
• Own the Tactical Operational Flight Software.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers.
• Deliver technical direction and backlog prioritization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for sprints and hardware considerations.
• Support program leadership in technical decisions and risk resolution.
