Job summary

Veeva Systems, Inc. is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to help build a new AI-driven platform for life sciences. You will shape the codebase and scale an engineering organization from the ground up, wearing many hats across the team.

You will influence architectural design, drive best practices, and have live customers within the first year as the platform grows and thrives with a strong, distributed team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps with tooling, automation and distributed systems.
• Mentor and grow engineering capabilities across teams.
• Extensive AWS design and development experience.
• Hands-on with IaC and config tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Deep containerization, serverless, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Proficient in Python and at least one statically typed language (Java/Scala/Go).
• Experience building and tuning CI pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Codefresh).
• Familiar with monitoring/observability and strong technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth software engineering guidance on cloud architecture and patterns.
• Implement IaC, CI/CD and automated deployments to boost productivity.
• Build and manage robust CI/CD workflows and lifecycle tooling.
• Provision, manage, and scale infrastructure with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes.
• Drive architecture and engineering best practices across teams.
• Improve system reliability, availability, and performance; reduce risk.
