Veeva Systems is a mission-driven SaaS leader in life sciences, enabling faster patient access to therapies via an AI-first platform. A founding DevOps engineer will help build the next major product from the ground up, shaping architecture, tooling, and team culture.

You will lead cloud and infrastructure efforts, implement IaC, and drive best practices across the org as the team scales with live customers within the first year.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps roles focusing on tooling, automation and distributed systems.
• Mentor and grow engineering teams.
• Extensive experience designing and programming applications in AWS.
• Hands-on with IaC and configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Deep expertise with containerization, serverless architectures, and orchestrators (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Proficient in Python and at least one statically typed language (Java/Scala/Go).
• Hands-on experience setting up and managing CI pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Codefresh).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth software engineering expertise in cloud architecture and design patterns.
• Implement core DevOps practices, including IaC, CI, and automated deployments.
• Build and manage CI/CD workflows to automate full-lifecycle tasks and boost productivity.
• Provision, manage, and scale infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Drive architectural design and engineering best practices across the organization.
• Improve system reliability, availability, performance and durability to minimize risk.
