Job summary

Veeva Systems is a mission-driven leader in life sciences cloud software, building an AI-first platform. As Principal Software Engineer, you will help grow a new product from the ground up, influence the codebase and engineering culture, and deliver a scalable SaaS solution for safety, regulatory, and clinical development.

You will own full feature development, collaborate with PM and Dev teams, and mentor engineers while serving live customers within a dynamic startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of proven software development experience (Python required).
• Experience building high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications.
• Proven track record architecting and delivering high-volume products.
• Hands-on development with open-source tools and technologies including Python, Git, FastAPI, Pydantic.
• Ability to mentor and elevate team performance.
• Strong communication in English.
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Own all stages of feature implementation from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Development on technical design.
• Rapidly analyze complex problems to accelerate robust solutions.
• Define and promote engineering best practices and AI-assisted engineering approaches.
• Provide comprehensive code reviews across experience levels.
• Mentor engineering talent and grow the team.
