Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive the architectural vision across our engineering org. You will guide multi‑squad design, ensure scalable, secure platforms in AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, and TypeScript/JavaScript.

You will mentor engineers, enforce coding standards, and align technical plans with business goals while delivering high‑volume, compliant healthcare solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering and system design experience.
• 3+ years at Staff/Principal level driving cross‑team architectural initiatives.
• Experience with distributed, high‑throughput B2B SaaS or transactional systems.
• Strong cloud, database, and full-stack engineering fundamentals.
• Excellent communication for technical trade‑offs with executives.
• Measurable expertise in designing distributed systems and automated deployments.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the target architecture for core platforms and roadmaps.
• Lead design and implementation of high‑volume API integrations and logistics.
• Mentor staff to senior engineers and elevate engineering culture.
• Establish coding standards, testing frameworks, CI/CD, and security by design.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations.
• Ensure HIPAA/SOC2 compliance and secure data handling.
• Improve performance, latency, and database efficiency in AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Evaluate new tools and run PoCs to improve the ecosystem.
