Job summary

Slalom in Chicago is seeking a Principal to lead executive workshops and discovery sessions, assess business priorities, AI readiness, and data maturity, and translate these into enterprise AI and data strategies and implementation roadmaps.

You will partner with architects, engineers, data scientists, designers and business stakeholders to align strategic recommendations with delivery realities, while mentoring teams and shaping reusable assets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in consulting, enterprise strategy, digital transformation, data strategy, analytics or technology advisory roles.
• 3+ years focused on AI, data, analytics, or intelligent automation initiatives.
• Proven experience developing enterprise AI/data strategies with governance and modern data platforms.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies including generative AI, LLMs, cloud ecosystems.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
• Strong consulting and problem-solving skills with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive workshops and discovery sessions to assess AI readiness and data maturity.
• Develop enterprise AI and data strategies, operating models, governance approaches, and roadmaps.
• Identify and prioritize AI/data opportunities across functions and translate into transformation plans.
• Advise on foundational data capabilities for AI success, including governance and data quality.
• Partner with architects, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align recommendations with delivery.
• Serve as trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Support business development through proposals, RFPs, client presentations, and pursuit strategy.
• Develop executive-ready deliverables and contribute to practice development with reusable assets.
