Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Principal AI/ML Architect to design and deliver production-grade AI systems across data platforms and cloud environments. You will lead cross-functional teams of data engineers, AI engineers, ML engineers, software engineers, and consultants, aligning AI architecture with business outcomes.

The role requires deep GenAI knowledge, agentic AI patterns, and strong Python and cloud experience, with on-site requirements within commutable distance of a Slalom office.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience implementing ML/AI solutions in production.
• 3+ years of experience in professional consulting or IT services, with client engagements.
• Hands-on experience designing production AI systems with end-to-end architecture.
• Deep understanding of GenAI patterns: RAG, embeddings, vector/search, tool calls.
• Experience with agentic AI architecture patterns (single/multi-agent workflows).
• Proficiency with modern AI engineering frameworks and tools (LangChain, HuggingFace, etc.).
• Strong programming in Python; APIs, IaC, test automation, scalable service design.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver enterprise-scale AI systems across data products and deployment lifecycles.
• Design secure, cloud-native and hybrid architectures across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• Lead AI solution design across generative, agentic, multimodal AI and knowledge apps.
• Enable production GenAI adoption with tool calling, orchestration, and prompts engineering.
• Define evaluation, observability, and reliability patterns including testing and tracing.
• Champion Responsible AI, governance, privacy, and bias mitigation.
