Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Principal Agentic AI Engineer to lead multiple automation and AI workstreams, delivering end-to-end systems in a regulated financial services environment.

You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and collaborate with product owners to scope opportunities, design guardrails, and ensure quality across production deployments and observability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering, with automation/AI or data engineering focus.
• Experience delivering production-grade software.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Financial services or regulated environment is a plus.
• Ability to work with LLMs and AI governance.
• Equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end automation and agentic AI systems from discovery to production.
• Design and maintain RAG pipelines and guardrails.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Owner on discovery and scoping.
• Drive AI-assisted development adoption.
• Develop and enforce prompt engineering standards.
