Job summary

The Atlantic District in Bowie, Maryland seeks a Principal Agent to lead our growth, operations, and client service functions. You will direct day-to-day sales, mentor staff, and build local relationships with clients and carriers to strengthen our market presence.

Ideal candidates hold Maryland Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses, with 5+ years in insurance sales or agency leadership, including expertise in commercial and personal lines. A strong ethical reputation is essential.

Qualifications

• Maryland Property & Casualty and Life & Health producer licenses required.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance sales or agency leadership.
• Strong understanding of commercial and personal lines coverage.
• Experience developing and executing local growth strategies.
• Experience with digital policy management systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day sales operations and strategic growth of the Bowie office.
• Mentor and guide a small team of licensed staff to reach their potential and agency goals.
• Identify and secure new commercial and personal lines accounts through local networking and community engagement.
• Review existing policy portfolios to ensure clients have adequate protection.
• Maintain relationships with insurance carrier representatives for pricing and product access.
• Represent The Atlantic District at community events and local business forums.

Requirements

• Strong comfort level with digital policy management systems and agency metrics.
• Strong reputation for ethical conduct and professional integrity within the Maryland market.
