Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to join the Pricing & Risk Management team. This entry-level role focuses on state growth, segmentation, and turning policy, quote, and claims data into practical recommendations.

You'll work with Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows to automate recurring reports and surface profitable opportunities. As part of Kin's remote-first culture, you’ll collaborate with state managers and business partners to build knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, computer science, or a related field.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical or coding tasks (academic or personal projects count), and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings in plain language, stay curious, and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams, developing recommendations.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
