Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to join our remote-first Pricing and Risk Management team. You will analyze state growth, segmentation, and policy data to guide profitable pricing decisions and reporting.

You will collaborate with state managers and partners, automate recurring analyses using Claude Code and Databricks Genie, and deliver clear insights to drive Kin’s growth. You’ll learn insurance metrics, pricing and risk concepts, and contribute to impactful analyses while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, CS, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on AI experience using Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings in plain language and manage assignments with guidance.
• Internships, coursework, and analytical projects count.

Responsibilities

• Turn policy, quote, and claims data into practical recommendations.
• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, conversion, new business, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance by geography, risk, coverage, and channels for growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how rate changes and underwriting rules affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie and Claude Code to write SQL, build scripts, and automate reports.
• Integrate data into approved MCP workflows and document findings clearly.
• Deliver charts and concise summaries to Pricing and Risk and partners.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
