Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Preschool Special Education to support licensed teachers in an Office of Early Learning setting. You will provide one-on-one support, reinforce instructional programs, and assist with behavior plans for students with IEPs.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with progress toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, 48 college credits, or 96 PD hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• 48 hours of college credits as evidence through transcript.
• 96 PD hours and Work Keys assessments completed.

Responsibilities

• Follows all WCPSS policies and procedures including state and federal regulations for special education.
• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist teacher in devising strategies based on student needs and abilities.
• Implement behavior intervention plans under supervision.
• Assist with instructional material modification and creation.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a structured classroom environment.
