Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher for all locations in the Atlanta area. You will deliver high-quality early childhood education, supervise classroom staff, and ensure compliance with Bright from the Start licensing and Quality Rated standards.

Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities, supporting literacy and math development, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a CDA, TCC, AA degree in Early Childhood Education or higher credential.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Transcript and documentation to support credentials.
• Experience working with children in an organized setting.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop classroom associates and manage day-to-day operations.
• Plan and implement learning experiences advancing intellectual and physical development.
• Improve readiness for school by developing literacy and print awareness.
• Enhance language development and vocabulary, and appreciation of books.
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Support social and emotional development of children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate practices inclusive of children with disabilities.
• Meet government and program regulations for compliance and documentation.
• Move around learning environment to actively participate in teaching activities.
• Conduct ongoing observations and administer developmental assessments as required.
