Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Pre-K Lead Teacher to plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate instruction for four-year-olds, preparing them for kindergarten.

Under the Center Manager, you will lead a team, ensure compliance with Bright from the Start, and deliver the YMCA Early Learning Curriculum. This role emphasizes developmentally appropriate practice and strong family engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with Pre-K students.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Credentials must be verified in Georgia Professional Development System (PDS) prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to Pre-kindergarten children that aligns with GELDS and prepares them for kindergarten.
• Model professional, family-centered conduct in the YMCA Early Learning program.
• Maintain accurate attendance, documentation, and adherence to program guidelines.
• Deliver instruction based on YMCA Early Learning Curriculum and Signature Programs.
• Create a developmentally appropriate, inclusive learning environment.
• Engage families through regular communication and conferences.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities across curriculum areas.
