Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a motivated Pre-K Lead Teacher to plan, implement, and assess age-appropriate instruction for four-year-olds, aligning with GELDS and the Y Early Learning Curriculum. You will support a nurturing, inclusive classroom and collaborate with staff and families to promote kindergarten readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in early childhood education or related field, GA certifications, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Knowledge of project-based curriculum such as Creative Curriculum.
• Enthusiasm for working with Pre-K students.
• Credentials verified in Georgia Professional Development System (PDS) prior to hire.
• Transcript and proof of credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to Pre-K children aligned with GELDS and kindergarten readiness.
• Maintain professional, family- and child-centered communication.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning and safety.
• Record attendance, punctuality, and progress as required.
• Follow Bright from the Start Operating Guidelines and complete required training.
• Administer developmental assessments and document observations.
• Plan developmentally appropriate, integrated activities across curriculum.
