Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is hiring a Head Start Lead Teacher for Augusta locations. You will oversee daily operations for 3- to 5-year-olds, plan literacy and early math activities, and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include family engagement, assessing child progress, and maintaining compliance with program regulations. A Bachelor’s in early childhood education and excellent communication are required, with opportunities for growth within the Y family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for family engagement and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement learning experiences that advance literacy and physical development.
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Encourage family involvement and conduct parent conferences/home visits.
• Meet all applicable federal, state, local regulations and documentation requirements.
