The Team
The Technical Sales Solutions Consultant (Presales Engineer) plays a key role in the customer solution architecting process, providing pre-sales software and hardware technical expertise. Working closely with the sales team, other consultants, and customer representatives, the Solutions Consultant supports product specification presentations and product value discussions. They use project management and customer relationship skills to align Hitachi Vantara solutions with customer strategies and demonstrate strong knowledge in key initiatives and solution areas.
The Role
- Gather data on customer business issues, analyze solutions, and employ this information in engagements.
- Collaborate with customers on developing a global growth roadmap.
- Use understanding of customer needs and industry trends in disciplines like Business Continuity, Tiered Storage, or Storage Management to build a business case for Hitachi Vantara solutions.
- Support company change programs and act as a role model for solution selling.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of experience in a Consulting Presales role in the Storage Industry or high-value solutions infrastructure company.
- 5+ years of experience in the IT industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies such as servers, virtualization (VMware), containers, business continuity, data protection, SAN, LAN/WAN concepts and architectures.
- Knowledge of ESX, vSAN, NSX, vRealize, Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift is desired.
- Experience with enterprise applications like ERP, CRM, SAP/Oracle is a plus.
- Proven success in business technology sales with excellent customer skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver well-structured presentations tailored to the audience.
- Personable, persuasive, and articulate; capable of representing Hitachi Vantara positively and building relationships.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license required.
