Job summary

Vertiv Corporation seeks a Presales Application Engineer to support its LV power distribution portfolio, including UL 1558 switchgear and UL 891 switchboards. You will tailor technical solutions, perform design validation, and coordinate with sales, engineering and manufacturing to meet customer specs and project requirements.

In this fast-paced role, you will develop configured solutions, review technical compliance, and provide detailed system layouts, schematics, and equipment specifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with power distribution equipment, electrical codes and standards (e.g., ANSI, NEC, IEEE, IEC, UL, and NEMA).
• Experience with Medium Voltage products and power delivery.
• Proficiency in design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions and internal collaboration.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience within the Medium Voltage industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in application of UL 1558, UL 891 and UL 67 products.
• Assist customers in design and configuration of power distribution systems.
• Develop custom solutions based on customer requirements, considering efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product compatibility and performance.
• Partner with sales and engineering to review specifications and provide technical input during sales.
• Prepare technical documentation including system layouts and equipment specifications.
• Maintain records of customer interactions and project details.
• Provide feedback for development of configuration tools.
