Job summary

Temple Square Hospitality’s The Roof within the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City is seeking a Prep Cook (Part-Time). You will prepare ingredients, maintain a clean prep station, and support line cooks during service to ensure a smooth dining experience.

The role offers 15-25 hours per week across 2-3 shifts, with a pay range of $19.00-$21.00 per hour. Prior kitchen experience and a team-oriented attitude are preferred, with growth opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning according to established recipes and guidelines.

• Support line cooks and other kitchen staff during service as needed.
• Assist with special projects, banquets, and events as assigned.

Located inside the historic Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square, The Roof Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience in one of the most beautiful venues in Utah.

We're looking for Prep Cooks who are passionate professionals and take pride in their craft, contributing to a team known for excellence.

Part-time | 15-25 hours/week | 2-3 shifts

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

JOB ENVIRONMENT/OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate business needs
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Ability to repetitively bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check, as well as abide by all company policies
• Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management

COMPENSATION:

$19.00 - $21.00/hour. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
