Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a motivated kitchen team member to support daily food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced setting in Short Hills, NJ. You will assist chefs, manage inventory, and help ensure a smooth, high-quality dining experience for guests.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in food production or restaurant environments, with Food Handler certification and a strong eye for detail, time management, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced food production facility or restaurant.
• Local/municipal requirements such as Food Handler certification.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work quickly under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients per recipes and kitchen needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and proper storage of food.
• Assist chefs by measuring and mixing ingredients and other prep tasks.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory by labeling and storing ingredients; notify Kitchen Manager of low stock.
• Perform daily and deep cleaning to maintain hygiene.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing them properly.
• Cross-train across roles to support team growth and success.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
