Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a motivated kitchen prep team member to support chefs and maintain a clean, efficient workspace. You will prep ingredients, follow recipes, and help with inventory and safety protocols in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in food production or restaurant environments, can lift up to 50 pounds, and are willing to obtain a Food Handler certification. This on-site role offers growth within a growing brand and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handler certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Experience in fast-paced food production or restaurant environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients as per recipes and kitchen needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring proper storage of food.
• Assist chefs by measuring and mixing ingredients and performing prep tasks.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines and proper handling of ingredients.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory control by labeling and storing ingredients; notify Kitchen Manager of low stock.
• Perform daily and deep cleaning tasks to keep a hygienic kitchen.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and put them away in storage areas.
• Demonstrate willingness to cross-train across roles to grow responsibilities.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.
