Job summary

SCA Health in Arlington, TX is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in PreOp PACU to support perioperative care across our ambulatory surgical centers. You will assess patients before and after surgery, coordinate recovery, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe, timely discharges.

The role emphasizes thorough documentation, patient education, infection prevention, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services before the start date or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe underlying pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across various modalities.
• Communicate patient status throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care.
• Provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards; protect patient rights and privacy.
• Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly; collaborate with other disciplines.
