Job summary

SCA Health in Houston, TX is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp and PACU to support perioperative care across our network. You will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, monitor vital signs, manage pain, ensure safe anesthesia recovery, and collaborate with the surgical team to promote safe, efficient outcomes.

Requirements include graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing, active state licensure, and BLS/BCLS; ACLS and PALS within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current certification.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe underlying physiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement interventions.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia and ensure safety across all perioperative stages.
• Provide patient education, discharge planning and hand-off reports as required.
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain patient rights, dignity and privacy.
