Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role in Arlington, TX. You will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, implement perianesthesia plans, monitor vital signs and analgesia, and ensure safe recovery and transfer of care.

Responsibilities include patient education, coordinating with surgical teams, and adhering to clinical quality standards. The position emphasizes teamwork, integrity and continuous improvement in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included, within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policies (cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamics, pain).
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of diseases and anesthesia physiology.
• Apply discharge criteria and transfer criteria.
• Develop and implement perianesthesia care plan.
• Perform perioperative care activities and protect patient from injury.
• Administer medications safely using the eight rights.
• Communicate patient status to team.
• Provide education to patient and family.
• Collaborate with disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
