Job summary

SCA Health in Arlington, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role. You will assess preoperative and postoperative status, monitor vital signs, manage pain, and support safe recovery following anesthesia in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include applying discharge criteria, coordinating with anesthesia and surgical teams, documenting care, and upholding our standards for patient safety, quality, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience recommended.
• Current state licensure to practice as a nurse; BLS/BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS required or within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia in various modalities.
• Provide hand-off reports and document nursing care completely.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
