Job summary

SCA Health in the United States is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU to support perioperative care across facilities. You will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, interpret monitors, and apply standardized discharge criteria while developing individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice with good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS course within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors accurately.
• Describe the physiology and pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Apply discharge criteria (Aldrete/PADSS) as defined by policy.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement care including recovery management post-anesthesia.
• Transfer care with accurate hand-off reports per protocol.
• Document nursing care completely and collaborate with the team.
