Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge design and construction across the United States, with up to 50% travel and a hybrid work model. The role supports industrial and commercial facilities from early design through construction, coordinating with design, procurement and construction teams to optimize schedules, budgets and safety.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Construction/Architecture or equivalent, 5+ years of project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D Modelling software.
• Field Construction Experience on active construction projects.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% across North America for planning, design, procurement and early construction phases.
• Hybrid work environment across multiple time zones requiring some in-person participation.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on tasks in preconstruction planning deliverables including bid package development, scheduling, estimating, virtual design and construction modeling, and reporting.
• Participate as a knowledge base for design constructability and sequencing plan.
• Drive collaboration between stakeholders.
• Know client expectations and manage client interface.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement and construction teams for efficient information flow.
• Conduct constructability reviews during all design phases.
