Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge design and construction for data center projects across North America, with up to 50% travel.

The role requires strong coordination with design, procurement, scheduling and construction teams to plan, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards. Hybrid work and domestic travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience managing construction projects in industrial/commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D modelling software.
• Field construction experience on active projects.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Experience optimizing scheduling and sequencing.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of time for project needs.
• Hybrid environment experience; able to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support preconstruction planning with bid packages, scheduling, estimating, and VDC modeling.
• Contribute to design constructability reviews and sequencing plans.
• Drive collaboration among stakeholders and manage client interface.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement and construction teams.
• Develop risk registers, mitigation plans, and site logistics.
• Coordinate safety, quality, and project services groups to ensure prep for construction.
