Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge design and construction for data center projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel. The role focuses on early-phase planning, risk mitigation, and coordination among design, procurement, scheduling, and construction teams to meet timelines and budgets.

Ideal candidates have a relevant degree and 5+ years of construction project leadership, with strong communication skills and experience with 3D modeling and BIM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D Modelling software.
• Field Construction Experience on active construction projects.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing.
• Ability and willingness to travel to support project needs (up to 50%).
• Hybrid work environment across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on bid package development, scheduling, estimating, virtual design and construction modeling, and reporting.
• Contribute to design constructability and sequencing plans.
• Drive collaboration among stakeholders and manage client interface.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement, and construction teams.
• Conduct constructability reviews across design phases.
• Review modularization and off-site manufacturing studies.
• Assist estimate and schedule development and identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with construction and procurement teams.
• Support development of 4-D visualizations.
• Create site logistics plans including utility and off-site needs.
• Coordinate with safety, quality, and project services groups for comprehensive planning.
• Prepare and maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Foster cooperative relationships among client, contractor, and stakeholders.
