Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to own complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design and permitting, across the assigned region. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to define scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring timely permits and a clean handoff to construction.

You will drive planning, design validation and preconstruction deliverables for built-to-suit facilities,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of project management experience from design through operation.
Experience within packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
Travel up to 60% (Nationwide).

Responsibilities

Independently manage difficult, cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
Lead site selection and validation, scope development, and design management—coordinating with design teams to develop site plans and floor plans.
Manage multiple concurrent large industrial projects across various locations and drive timely decisions.
Identify and resolve upstream issues to support a clean handoff to Construction Manager and KPI tracking.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to secure resources, set priorities, and ensure delivery.
