Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction team seeks a Preconstruction Manager to lead cross-functional industrial preconstruction efforts from site selection through design, permits, and contract execution.

You will drive scope, budget, schedule, risk analysis, and KPI tracking, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. 60% travel nationwide; relocation to corporate offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in design through operation.
• Experience with packaging, processing, or logistics facilities is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety programs and compliance across project teams.
• Interface with AHJ for permitting, zoning, and building code requirements.
• Independently manage cross-functional preconstruction projects from site selection to contract execution.
• Lead site selection, scope development, and design management per Amazon standards.
• Manage multiple large projects across locations and drive timely decisions to keep projects on track.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and cashflow forecasting; perform conceptual estimating.
• Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor procurement and professional services.
• Communicate project status and risks to leadership; present to senior stakeholders.
