Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to steer cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution across the region.

You will lead planning, design, and preconstruction for build-to-suit facilities, tenant improvements, expansions, and renovations, partnering with internal and external teams to define scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk).
• Experience as an Owner's representative or in Commercial Development/Construction roles.
• Experience interfacing with AHJ, regulatory agencies, and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure regulatory compliance, permitting, and approvals.
• Lead site selection, scope development, and design management for compliant site plans and floor plans.
• Manage multiple large industrial projects across diverse locations simultaneously.
• Maintain scope discipline and accelerate progress through timely decisions and risk mitigation.
• Develop and manage project budgets and schedules; forecast cash flow for preconstruction projects.
• Review and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with developers, GCs, and design consultants.
