Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team seeks a Preconstruction Manager to act as the owner's representative during preconstruction, handling planning, design validation and budgeting for industrial facilities. You will lead cross-functional teams across site selection, design, permitting, and contracts to deliver complex builds on schedule.

The role requires 60% regional travel, proximity to a corporate office, and relocation flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or owner’s representation.
• Experience managing multi-location preconstruction projects and coordinating diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Lead site selection and validation, scope development, and design management per Amazon standards.
• Manage multiple concurrent large projects across locations; drive timely decisions and remove blockers.
• Assess KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability; coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, and external vendors.
