Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Preconstruction Manager within Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction to lead cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design and permitting. You will coordinate with internal teams and external consultants, manage scopes, budgets, and schedules, and ensure regulatory compliance across North America.

The role emphasizes ownership of upstream planning, risk analysis, and a proactive handoff to Construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Experience as an Owner's Representative or similar role in commercial development.
• Knowledge of regulatory permitting, zoning, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting and approvals.
• Lead site selection, scope development, and design management.
• Manage multiple large industrial preconstruction projects across locations.
• Develop budgets and comprehensive schedule management; forecast cashflow.
• Perform conceptual estimating and pricing reviews; negotiate costs with vendors.
