Layton Construction in Hawaii seeks an experienced estimator to prepare estimates and support cost accuracy with the project team. You will assist other estimators and managers in all types of estimating tasks.

Responsibilities include reading plans, offering value engineering, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing bid proposals. Collaboration with architects, owners, subs, and suppliers is key. Bachelors in engineering or construction and 2+ years estimating required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of estimating commercial/industrial construction projects, with competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Excellent working knowledge of Timberline and Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Primavera preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Read and analyze contract documents; offer value engineering and life-cycle cost options.
• Perform quantity take-offs, organize, price, and analyze information.
• Prepare bid proposals and formats for general conditions, bidding, and bid analysis.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, subs, and suppliers; solicit bids and quotes.
• Attend owner meetings during estimate development; prepare detailed schedules.
