Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a Steel Milling Machine Operator for 1st shift to join our precision machining team. You will set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines, following process sheets and blueprints to meet quality standards.

The role emphasizes careful measurement with calipers, micrometers, and gauges, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with supervisors to optimize production. Ability to stand all shift and lift heavy parts is required.

Qualifications

• Basic machining concepts and proficiency with measuring devices.
• Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and logs.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
• Install machine fixtures to ensure safe operation.
• Set up and operate machines (lathes, mills, drills, presses, CNC) per specs.
• Inspect finished products and verify tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow PPE/safety rules.
• Assist in other duties as needed.
