Job summary

West Marine is seeking a Receiving Clerk to accurately and promptly process inbound shipments, verify product details, and maintain organized inventory records in our distribution center. You will review deliveries against purchase orders, sign for shipments, update the Warehouse Management System, and assist with periodic counts while upholding safety and quality standards.

This is an on-site role; candidates must be at least 18, willing to undergo a background check and pre-employment drug

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Willing to submit to a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols while handling shipments and report hazards.
• Communicate with vendors and collaborate with purchasing/inventory control to ensure accurate processing of shipments.
• Receive shipments, review deliveries for accuracy, sign for receipts, and verify against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System and assist periodic counts and audits.
• Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report issues; process returns and maintain clean work areas.
