Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, operates a manufacturing plant producing outdoor living and infrastructure products. We are seeking a Machine Operator to operate plant machinery, adhere to safety policies, and contribute to high-quality output.

You will read specifications, adjust machines, monitor operations for defects, and assist with setup and maintenance while maintaining a clean, organized work area. This role requires basic math and document-reading skills.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and other tasks to meet deadlines and complete production.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
