Job summary

Oldcastle APG in the United States seeks an Equipment and Machine Operator to read specifications, adjust machines, and produce a superior product while following safety rules and policies.

You will perform routine maintenance, set up machines, and assist teammates to meet deadlines, keeping the work area orderly and safe. This is a full-time position with CRH offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or at least one month of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers
• Knowledge of the basics of hydraulics, electricity, and tools
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must encompass computer literacy as well as strong mechanical ability

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
