Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Temecula, CA seeks a production assembler for the Vascular Devices division. The role includes electronic and mechanical assembly, casting/coating, and packaging in a clean-room environment.

Under supervision, you will perform assembly, welding, x-ray inspection, and testing of pacemakers and ICD leads, with emphasis on quality, safety, and FDA compliance. Strong hand-eye coordination and multi-tasking are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically six plus months of relevant training/experience in the assembly of digital/analog circuitry, devices, components or equivalent.
• Must be able to multi-task and rotate through all jobs performed in the assigned work group as needed.
• Must be able to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; reading comprehension pre-employment exam may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, weld, x-ray, repair and test operations on pacemakers, ICDs, leads and related medical device assemblies.
• Assemble, weld, solder and x-ray medical devices and parts using microscopes and tools.
• Locate and correct problems by examining x-rays and inspecting parts.
• Repair and test units using computerized test equipment.
• Packaging and documentation review duties to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Comply with FDA regulations and company quality systems.
